Why are we unique

Many perfume houses have fancy names for their bottles, at Shiraz Parfums the aim is simple. Produce high quality perfumes which highlight my fathers journey.

The biography collection is a range of timeless fragrances, each marking an aspect of my fathers life.

Taaj was his mothers name, a true beacon of our family. 

Lahore is my fathers home city. A city where he spent most of his childhood.

1952 ( the third release ) is an aromatic fougere. This perfume marks the year my father was born so I decided to create a masculine leaning scent that is fresh and well balanced with earthy notes. 

In the 90s, my father was paralysed from the neck down. He was diagnosed with Guillan Bare syndrome. His career came to an end and he learnt how to walk again. He recieved rehab in kingston upon Thames which also happened to be the town he became the first Asian mayor of. Kingston comes from the amalgamation of two words 'kings' and 'stone'. The towns name is taken from the larger than life stone found in the Guildhall that Kings were coronated on. The key ingredient here is Tonka bean. It provides a beautiful balsamic transition from what begins with an Amber opening.

After my father's paralysis and his stand in local government he achieved many things and this period of time as I see it was 'the opening' for what was to come next. An opening for me requires confidence, bravery and courage. The perfume with that in mind was created with some elegant and powerful notes. Oppoponax, myrrh, Immortelle and blackberry to provide a fruity twist, which blends well with the charcoal smoky notes of black Frankinscense.

The last perfume from this house from the biography collection is called Triumph. It is a tribute to his life as whole. An immigrant who left Asia for Europe, despite his hardships was triumphant.

The perfume itself is sexy, seductive and Powdery. It's inviting appeal will allow one to feel confident. It marks the final perfume from the range and was created to smell like powdered skin. A reminder that triumph and victory start and end with belief in the self.

Shiraz Parfums provides an original approach to the scents as well as design. The ingredients used are some of the most expensive in the world. Rose from Bulgaria, Aoud from Assam and Orris tincture. For example tincturing allows a unique composition to be created further allowing our creations to offer unparalled uniqueness. 

We source the highest quality of ingredients that comply with IFRA. Shiraz Parfums ensures synthetics are used where ever necessary for ingredients such as Musk where tonquitone is used as a replacement. Civet is another example where the synthetic form is used to ensure our products are free from cruelty to animals. Hyrax used in 'triumph' is indeed authentic but no animals are harmed in the process.

The use of naturals such as Aoud will often mean the scents may project differently from skin to skin. Many of our ingredients will have differents ages therefore the overall scent maybe affected. Applying our fragrances is always best done on skin when one has showered and our heavier, deeper scents will always be appreciated more when sprayed on the pulse points and on the inside of fabric rather than outside for this will allow the fragrance to maintain a personal connection with the recipient.  

Our concentrated formulas are not rushed to market. They are handmade, drop by drop. They are left to macerate and ratios are constantly worked on to ensure the final result is worthy of our tagline ' scents of opulence '. Once the maceration process is completed a high grade of alchol is used to mix the concentrate. Water is not used in any of our compositions, only musks are added to ensure our perfumes attain projection and sillage. Once this has been completed the key ingredients are once again added to the alcohol adding an extra layer of depth, once this is complete the work on the bottles now begins. 

Each bottle is presented with an aluminium label, finely engraved ensuring the brands crafmanship is felt as well seen. The decorative collar is again added by hand, each item is carefully placed on the thread and carefully tied around the neck.  

We firmly believe that presentation is very important which is why our steel caps are luxury to hold and feel. This final item with it's ridged diamond sides and embossed logo adds class and identity.  

Shiraz Parfums is responsible for the luxury velvet boxes which are all made in house by hand. The magnets, the precision cutting and applying of the self adhesive velvet, the addition of satin and precision cutting of the foam underlay are all part of the brands identity. This is craftsmanship of the highest levels for the brand does not compromise in quality. The boxes are expensive to make and can often hours to complete. This is to ensure our customers recieve an experience not just a product.
